Alright. I've been working on the server off and on all day and now it's time for a progress report.
Structures
There was quite a bit more damage than I had first thought. Turns out, ALL modded blocks have been gutted from the server. So, pretty much every build suffered some sort of structural damage. Selva, Spawn, Skytopia, Moffet, Pineridge, the Water Temple and most other builds made it out okay with minimal damage. In fact, Skytopia is essentially back up and running after a short few hours of reconstruction. Unfortunately, some places were not so lucky. Ballast City is a mess and the Slime temple is absolutely gone, since it was made entirely out of TiC blocks. But to be honest, I'd all but forgotten about Ballast City and had been wanting to rebuild it. The loss of the slime temple is really sad though...
As we venture further into 1.7.10 we may find more broken builds. Just report them to me and we'll fix them.
NPCs and Quests
This data survived entirely. Luckily, I haven't found a single error in any quest or dialogue from transition. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the economy and vendors.
BukkitPlugins
World Edit and World Guard are operating just fine. In fact, all the protected region data survived the trip. Thank god, because making WorldGuard regions is pain-stakingly time consuming. PermissionsEX is also functioning well, though I have encountered some strange permission denials, even when I am OP'd and a part of the Admins group. This could be related to potential new permission nodes added since 1.6.4 that I am unaware of.
I haven't added any other plugins yet, as a lot of the old plugins did not update. So I will have to find replacements. This means we'll be without useful teleport commands for a little while.
The only plugin giving me a hard time is Protection Stones. It's updated to 1.7.10 but it just doesn't seem to be working. I haven't really dug into this issue or opened up any config files yet but I have a feeling it's a simple fix. But considering what I have to say next, there's no real hurry anyway, because...
Server Mechanics
Access to the wildlands is temporarily blocked. So, nobody's gonna be making any land claims right this moment anyway. It should only be like this for awhile until I can fix protection stones and get the economy started. To do that basically requires me to edit all the banks and vendors on the server. Not as daunting as it sounds, but will take some time.
So I guess that's pretty much it. I don't think I missed anything. The server might be a little weird for the next few weeks but have no fear, the hardest part is over! We've made it to 1.7.10 and we've got all the tools to make an awesome and fun server! The past few days have been super challenging and have felt like a journey. I'm excited to see what the future holds for this server.
