Hey everybody! Not sure exactly where this thread would be best suited to so feel free to let me know where I could move it to. Anyway here are some mods I use on my client that I know work fine on servers, I think you guys would really enjoy a lot of these so look into em if you get the time and maybe we could see some on the server in the future!
Matmos SoundMod (I'm pretty sure you can just have this on your client so this may be an irrelevant one)
ZeldaSwordSkills Mod
MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod (Awesome usable furniture)
Battlegear2 by Bullseye (Dual Wielding and Shields!)
Pam's HarvestCraft (Tons of food)
Storage Drawers Mod (Great for organizing)
BetterDungeons Mod AKA ChocolateQuest (Crazy Useful tool included for building, The Magic Pickaxe)
DungeonPack
Big Trees Mod
Dr Zhark's Mo Creatures (+Custom Mob Spawner)
Carpenter's Blocks (REALLY cool, amazing mod for decoration with incredible versatility!)
Anyway if you have any questions that you can't find the answer to in regards to getting the mods to work on a server I MIGHT be able to help as I have all of these plus the mods already on the server on MY private server so I know they can work.

Hm... yeah, I guess there isn't really a good place for a post like this. It can stay here for now, I guess.
We had HarvestCraft before. We could easily add it back in. I also had Matmos before. I highly recommend it. It was amazing back almost a year ago when we were using the Archimedes mod. I'm kind of glad you brought up Carpenter blocks because I've always been interested in the mod after seeing it around but I tend to forget about it. I don't really know the other mods, but basically I'm open to considering any and all mods so long as they don't throw the server off balance or grief the server.
Sadly, unless this has changed, the devs of MoCreatures doesn't allow their mod to be packaged in a mod pack. So, in the interest of making it as easy as possible for users, we don't include that mod on our server.

Just a moderator here, so if I say anything like I own this place, I don't. These are just my opinions: Matmos: Good, yes, but I say client-side mods should remain the prerogative of the user. Crayfish's Furniture: Too modern to really fit with what's already around, IMO. The meshes and textures tend to be on the crude side, as well(especially compared to BiblioCraft). Last I checked they don't really like being dropped upon destruction with Tinker's Construct tools, either. I don't know how easily balanced MinEbay(or whatever the computer website was called) would be, either. Battlegear: Hasn't played well with Tinker's Construct for quite a while, and probably doesn't play well with stuff from our other mods, either. Doesn't play nice with Chocolate Quest shields either. ChocolateQuest: I love CQ but it would be a massive pain to make work properly balance-wise and to properly implement loot and stuff from other mods. Moreover, the 1.7.10 version is in early beta - there are lots of missing structures, enemies, and loot. Crafting recipes are nonexistent and the armor is all goofy, as well(I. Want. My. Damn. Cloud boots.). Last problem, it would likely require a world reset, which Dren said a while back isn't really an option anymore. Dungeonpack: Love this one as well. It would need some adjustment to prevent skipping important parts of the game(mod author overuses blaze spawners like a mofo), and also shares the world reset issue. Mo Creatures: Dr. Zhark has an issue with people using his content in modpacks. We're adding Lycanite's Mobs at some point in the future though, I think(Don't worry, we promise to use and abuse the configs as much as possible for THAT ).

I think I agree with you about Mr Crayfish now that I think about it and I could see how CQ and dungeon pack might require a reset. Personally Ive never had a problem with battlegear and tinkers or battlegear and CQ but this one was more for ascetic to me anyway. The Ones I would really stress would be HarvesCraft and Carpenter's blocks (Which is indescribably useful)

Personally Ive never had a problem with battlegear and tinkers or battlegear and CQ but this one was more for ascetic to me anyway I meant more of an immersion/support thing; TiC and Battlegear used to work properly together, support dual wielding, etc, but no longer do. I feel like battlegear would just kinda be weird, only having proper support for some mods and weapons, not working for others, etc...

Maybe IguanaTinkerTweaks is an idea? puts an leveling system on all the Tinker tools And if i read it correctly about the Mo's creatures, that you may not distribute it through out this modpack but you must download it from the site only but you may use it in server uses, just read the text in this link. www.mocreatures.org/downloads

Asking them to also go to yet another link and install mocreatures on top of the mod pack and the proper forge version would only push more potential players away. I really like carpenters blocks and harvest craft. I have no problem adding them in with Lycanite's Mobs if everyone else likes the idea. As for the other mods, I pretty much agree with Manan. I'm still looking at DungeonPack and will get back to y'all on that.

I don't personally see as much of a need for Mo' Creatures as we had before, given the level of control CustomNPCs gives. Most of the CustomNPCs mobs I've encountered so far seem fine and unique, and there's the awesome bonus of being able to make mobs exclusive to the server. I'm personally fond of the golden skeletons...
We still need a staggering drunk mob, though.

Its quite anoying because of that he will blind you so you can't see much, but make him a bit harder to beat!
I have an Manyullyn cleaver that do's 21 damage
But have you considerd IguanaTinkerTweaks btw? i found that one quite fun to play with or do's it make the server unbalanced?
