First Mojang sells to Microsoft, now bukkit and cauldron development has been halted. Read here. and most importantly here. Well. Been in interesting few weeks in the world of minecraft, especially modded minecraft. Our modpack and world will survive, but the internal workings [i.e., Protection Stones, worldedit, worldguard, jail, etc.] will likely be forced to change dramatically if bukkit doesn't get its shit together. I just wanted to make you all aware of this and to keep an eye on it, as I will be doing the next few days, weeks, or months. For now, we'll be stuck with the current version of forge. Luckily, I updated pretty close to the most recent version and it runs smooth as hell, but whatever the latest recommended build was, it's no longer 'officially' available. EDIT: In the coming days, I'm gonna remove advertising that we still run Cauldron, as I am typically a paranoid kind of person. Also, I would recommend against saying or advertising elsewhere that we use Cauldron. It's extremely unlikely that we'll be issued a DMCA. It's more likely that MCProhost would be issued a DMCA and they would tell us to remove Cauldron. But even that is not very likely as the DMCA was filed by a single dev on the bukkit team who is taking issue with mojang and the bukkit devs and devs using bukkit code. So, again, server hosts are not even on the radar in this issue. Still, I'll be taking precautions because they're simple and easy to take.

Oi, this is pretty damn annoying... Let's hope it'll all blow over soon, but I like the idea of being prepared in the event it doesn't.

So I figured I'd update y'all on this real quick. From what I can tell, the DMCA issues have been resolved. (It's actually been pretty hard to find info on this) So, legally, using this version of Cauldron is a-okay! The cauldron website however, has been completely taken offline. The cauldron team disbanded and has now formed a group of super coders to work on one singular API that would combine forge with bukkit, without relying on bukkit code. Which means, completely different plugins. Thus... spongepowered.org/So there it is. This project has some of the most well known coders working on it for 1.8. We're positioned quite perfectly, actually. We can coast for the next few months using the 1.7.10 version of cauldron until forge updates, and then the mods update. This is going to take quite a lot of time, so I don't expect to update to 1.8 for another 6 months even. That's pretty much it. The update 1.8 will likely be difficult as we will be forced to use different plugins, but honestly it's so far in the future, it's just nice to know some version or other of Cauldron/MCPC+ will be available. tl;dr Everything's gonna be just fine!
